Electrical & Mechanical Services Department

The Electrical & Mechanical Services Department is investigating an elevator accident in Fu Shin Estate, Tai Po.

It said today it was notified October 27 by the lift maintenance company about the accident in Shin Nga House on October 25. No casualty was reported.

Initial inspections have found damage to the cable, governor, lift car and counter weight. Records show the lift passed its annual safety inspection in January.

All other lifts in the estate have been checked since the accident and found to be safe.

The department will report its findings in one month.
