HK, Singapore sign aircraft service deal
*

The Civil Aviation Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with its Singapore counterpart to expand mutual aircraft, engine and component maintenance.

Speaking in Singapore today, Director-General of Civil Aviation Norman Lo said mutual recognition reduces duplication of approvals and auditing activities, maximising the resource utilisation of both regulators and industry partners.

Mr Lo said the use of common airworthiness standards improves aircraft maintenance quality.

The pact allows Hong Kong maintenance organisations to service aircraft registered in Singapore without seeking additional approval from authorities there, while those in the city-state can maintain Hong Kong registered aircraft.
