Keung Shan Road partly reopens
*
Highways Department

One of the lanes in a section of Keung Shan Road damaged by the June 7 rainstorm will reopen for one-lane,  two-way traffic at 10am on June 20, the Highways Department says.

New Lantao Bus routes 1, 2, 11, 21, and 23 will resume normal. Overnight route N1 from Mui Wo to Tai O and route 1R, which operates Sundays and public holidays from Hung Hom to Ngong Ping, will also return to normal. Click here for details.

The special ferry service between Tai O and Tung Chung provided by the Transport Department will cease on June 22.

Although emergency repairs have been completed, safety barriers and other facilities will also be erected. The Highways Department will expedite works to reopen the road for two-lane traffic as soon as possible.

As the Geotechnical Engineering Office is still assessing the residual landslide risks of the natural slopes on Keung Shan and Tai O Roads, the routes will be temporarily closed whenever a red or black rainstorm or landslip warning is issued.

Call the Transport Department's hotlines - 2804 2600 and 183 4567, or New Lantao Bus on 2984 9848, for the latest transport arrangements in Tai O.
