The Development Bureau has received 113 proposals from non-profit-making organisations for revamping the first batch of seven antiquities under the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme.

They included 30 proposals on Lui Seng Chun, 23 on Old Tai Po Police Station, 21 on North Kowloon Magistracy, 16 on Mei Ho House, 10 on Lai Chi Kok Hospital, eight on Fong Yuen Study Hall and five on Old Tai O Police Station.

The submitted plans propose various adaptive re-uses for these buildings, including museums, galleries, education centres, training institutes, hostels and restaurants.

The bureau's Commissioner for Heritage's Office has formed special teams to examine and assess the proposals. The assessment, with the Advisory Committee on Revitalisation of Historic Buildings' help, will be completed by year's-end.

Formed by professionals and experts in the field of historical research, architecture, surveying, social enterprise and finance, the committee will also advise on the subsequent monitoring of the revitalisation plans.

Successful applicants will be given funding support and the Government's professional support. Nominal rent will be charged for the historic buildings.
