The Water Supplies Department's quality management system governing the provision of water supply services has been International Organisation for Standardisation 9001:2000 certified, bringing the ISO 9000 series certificates issued to the department to 11 since the 1990s.

At the certificate presentation ceremony today Director of Water Supplies Ma Lee-tak said the department has been working to establish and optimise a modern, systematic and professional management system complying with international standards to provide top-quality water supply services.

"To fulfil customer need for the provision of quality water services, assuring reliability has always been one of the department's core values over the years," Mr Ma said.

"Since the 1990s a total of 11 functions of the department have been issued with the ISO 9000 series certificate. Today we have successfully enhanced our quality management system to cover our provision of water supply services, ranging from raw water collection to water treatment and distribution of water to customers."
