Do-not-call register hotlines unified

Office of the Telecommunications Authority

The three do-not-call register hotlines will be merged into one - 183 5000 - from March 26 for easier registration, the Office of the Telecommunications Authority says.

People can register their fax or phone numbers on any of the three registers by calling the hotline. The database will be updated daily from 11pm to midnight.

The registers have been operating smoothly since their launch. As at March 24, more than 478,000 numbers had been registered, with 84,952 on the fax register, 107,764 for short messages and 285,375 for pre-recorded telephone messages.

Protection for registered numbers will start on the 10th working day after the registration date. People can check the registration date of their numbers or cancel the registration by calling 183 5000 or by clicking here.
