Tenders invited for anti-landslip works
*
Civil Engineering & Development Department

The Civil Engineering & Development Department is inviting tenders for landslip prevention works on 40 government slopes and retaining walls on Lamma Island, Tsing Yi and in the western New Territories.

The works start in May and will take two years to complete. Various government departments will maintain the slopes and retaining walls.

The contract forms part of the works under the 10-year Extended Landslip Preventive Measures Project, which launched in 2000.

The Government has a long-term strategy to upgrade and maintain slopes. It will complete upgrades for 2,500 sub-standard government slopes and to complete safety-screening studies for 3,000 private slopes by 2010.
