Infrastructure works for Tseung Kwan O Stage I Landfill Site were published in the Gazette today.

The proposed works will provide infrastructure works for recreational development and improve its linkage with adjacent areas.

The works include:

* constructing sections of footpaths and cycle tracks, both about 1,520m long, connecting Tseung Kwan O Stage I Landfill Site and Tseung Kwan O Town Centre South;

* constructing a combined pedestrian and cycle bridge that is about 240m long across Eastern Channel with an associated lift, and ancillary works including drainage and utility works; and

* constructing retaining walls and cycle parking areas.

Some sections of existing roads and tracks will be temporarily or permanently closed and demolished.

The plan is available for public inspection at Public Enquiry Service Centres of Central & Western District Office and Sai Kung District Office, and the District Lands Office in Sai Kung.
