The Transport Department has invited tenders for the area traffic control system replacement for Kowloon, Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin and its expansion to Tseung Kwan O.

The works include design, supply and implementation of a computerised traffic control system with a central computer system, peripheral equipment, 890 traffic-signal controllers and associated detectors, with five-year maintenance services.

The works will start in September for completion in November 2011. The department has appointed Delcan International Corporation to assist in the implementation.
