Do-not-call register to take prefix-'6' numbers

*
Office of the Telecommunications Authority

The do-not-call register for pre-recorded telephone messages will accept registration of prefix-'6' numbers from tomorrow, the Office of the Telecommunications Authority says.

People who want to decline pre-recorded telephone messages can register their phone numbers by calling 183 5000, except 11pm to midnight each day when the database is updated.

For numbers registered before March 25 protection will start April 7. For those registered on or after March 26 protection will start on the 10th working day after the registration.

Users of prefix-'9' numbers can register from March 4.

A total of 22,579 numbers have been registered since the do-not-call register for pre-recorded telephone messages launched January 25.

Up to February 10 a total of 37,564 numbers have been registered onto the do-not-call register for fax and 57,156 numbers onto the register for short messages.

Click here for registration details or call 2180 6868.
