Smooth ride: Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Frederick Ma (second left) encourages people to take a cable-car ride to Ngong Ping.
*

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Frederick Ma says many improvements have been made to the Ngong Ping 360 cable-car system. He encourages Hong Kong citizens and tourists to take a ride to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Speaking to reporters after taking a ride to Ngong Ping Village today, Mr Ma said he was delighted to be among the first to ride up to Ngong Ping since the cable-car re-opened, adding it was a smooth ride.

"I am convinced that our citizens and our tourists will come back to enjoy this wonderful ride very soon.

"I think they will be convinced later as they see that the ride is very safe, as certified by the Electrical & Mechanical Services Department. The MTR has done a lot of improvement work. So I think time will tell. I am convinced that this will become one of the most popular, if not the most popular, tourist spots."
