Housing Authority car park fees to rise
*
Housing Authority

Monthly charges at 33 Housing Authority car parks with occupancy rates at 90% or above will rise 5% from January 1. Charges at 76 car parks will remain unchanged.

Subject to region and type of car park space, the monthly rise will range from $30 to $90. The mild increase affects 3,600 spaces occupying 18% of the authority's available car park space.

The authority maintains 26,700 spaces in 109 non-divested car parks. Thirty-three have a 90% or above occupancy rate.

Normal hourly charges will also rise by $1. The new rates are $12 per hour in urban and suburban car parks and $8 in the New Territories.

However, the reduced rate from 11pm to 7am will be maintained at $8 per hour in urban and suburban car parks and $5 in the New Territories. The hourly rate for motorcycles will also be maintained at $2.

Monthly motorcycle space charges will be raised $20 to $270 for covered spaces and $220 for open ones.

For the 8am to 8pm day-pass parking, charges will rise $5 to $60 for urban and suburban car parks and to $45 for New Territories car parks.
