Draft Hung Hom zoning plan approved

The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Hung Hom outline zoning plan, the Town Planning Board says. It covers about 145 hectares in the southeastern part of Kowloon Peninsula.

 

About 6.4 hectares is zoned commercial, covering existing and the proposed commercial developments on Cheong Tung Road and the reclamation area.

 

The reclamation provides land for the extension of hotel and office developments from Tsim Sha Tsui East, residential developments, open space and public facilities to help redress provision shortfalls.

 

About 26.9 hectares is zoned residential (group A), while about 6.6 hectares is zoned residential (group B).

 

About 22.1 hectares is zoned comprehensive development area and about 13 hectares is zoned government, institution or community.

 

About 15.1 hectares is zoned for other uses, such as a funeral parlour, public mortuary, freight yard and the Metropolis above it, ferry piers and a sewage treatment plant.

 

About 13.4 hectares is zoned open space for recreational use, and 41.6 hectares is for major roads and other uses.
