The Urban Renewal Authority today published the draft Kwun Tong Town Centre - Main Site & Yuet Wah Street Site Development Scheme Plans.

The Main Site Development Scheme Area covers 4.63 hectares and is bounded by Mut Wah Street, Hip Wo Street, Kwun Tong Road and Hong Ning Road. It is designated "Comprehensive Development Area (1)". It will accommodate residential, commercial, government, institution or community and open space uses.

The Yuet Wah Street Site Development Scheme Area covers 0.43 hectares and is bounded by Yuet Wah Street, Hip Wo Street and Kai King Building. The scheme area is designated "Comprehensive Development Area (2)". It will accommodate medium-density residential development with the provision of government, institution or community facilities.

The two areas will be developed by way of a development scheme prepared under section 25 of the URA Ordinance. The URA will be required to submit a master layout plan for each area to the board for approval.

The drafts are now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters in the North Point and Sha Tin Government Offices, the Kowloon District Planning Office and the Kwun Tong District Office. Electronic versions can be viewed at the board's website.

People can make written representations in respect of the two drafts to the secretary of the board by December 5. Representations made to the board will be available for public inspection.
