Airport passenger traffic up 7.5%
*
Airport Authority

Hong Kong International Airport saw a 7.5% rise in passenger throughput in May from a year earlier, to 3.81 million, the Airport Authority says.

Boosted by busy traffic, aircraft movements grew 6.5% year-on-year, to 24,760 flights over the month. Cargo throughput also grew 3.7% to 294,000 tonnes, resulting from a rebound in demand for export shipments.

Passenger throughput for the past 12 months grew 7.8%, to 45.6 million while cargo throughput rose 2.7% to 3.59 million tonnes. Aircraft movements rose 4.2%, to 285,000 flights.
