Licence application streamlined
*
Transport Department

From tomorrow, drivers who renew their full, probationary and instructors' licences are no longer required to produce their old ones, the Transport Department says.

Those who apply for instructors' licences or international driving permits do not need to produce their full licences. Applicants for disabled parking permits are also not required to produce existing licences and registration documents.

The department said the new arrangements will help streamline the licensing procedure and provide more efficient and convenient services to the public.

Legislative amendments have been made stating that licence holders and vehicle owners should notify the department in writing of any change of particulars within 72 hours of such change. These include their names, addresses and identity documents. They may be required to produce proof of the change when necessary.

In the case of a change in name or identity document, they should also deliver their existing licences and registration documents for variation. For details call 2804 2600.
