31 building plans approved

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 31 building plans in February - 11 on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and 15 in the New Territories. They include 12 apartment and apartment-commercial developments, 11 commercial, five factory and industrial and three community-services developments.

 

Consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 207 units with 25,520 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, and 125,515 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

It also issued 17 occupation permits - five on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories. These buildings have 34 units with 11,452 square metres for domestic use, and 27,397 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of new buildings completed in February totalled $600 million. It received notification of the start of work for 13 building projects. It also issued seven demolition consents for seven buildings, received 1,518 complaints against unauthorised works, and issued 2,161 removal orders for unauthorised works.
