The Buildings Department approved 24 building plans in December - seven on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

 

These plans included seven apartment and apartment/commercial developments, nine commercial developments, four factory and industrial developments, and four community-services developments.

 

In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 13 building projects that, when completed, will provide 669 units with 100,671 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, and 145,080 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

 

The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.

 

The department also issued 26 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, 10 in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.

 

These buildings have 1,346 units with 124,266 square metres for domestic use, and 371,566 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

Buildings' declared cost: $4.3b

The declared cost of new buildings completed in December totalled about $4.3 billion.

 

The department also issued 10 demolition consents for 10 buildings. It received 1,847 complaints against unauthorised building works in December, and issued 2,132 removal orders on unauthorised works.
