The Transport Advisory Committee has called for enforcement action against goods vans carrying passengers. Committee Chairman Teresa Cheng said goods vans cannot carry passengers, which is the job of taxis.

The committee backed the proposal for a new loading and unloading area for goods vans at the airport, reducing the operating area of errant drivers taking passengers for money. It also supported the Government's publicity drive to better educate the public of the possibility of losing third-party insurance protection, should they hire the vans.
