Transport comments up 12.1%

Transport Advisory Committee

The Transport Advisory Committee received 5,481 complaints and suggestions in the third quarter, up 12.1% on the second. The comments were related to public transport services (76%), enforcement matters (14%) and traffic conditions (6%).

 

Those related to public transport services rose 14.1% to 4,206. Comments on traffic conditions rose from 266 to 321. Those on road maintenance grew from 87 to 104 while complaints about illegal parking and other enforcement matters rose from 745 to 754. All comments have been referred to the relevant authorities for follow-up action.

 

During the period, investigations into 5,177 cases were completed. Of these, 3,491 cases (67%) were found to be substantiated, 268 cases (5%) were unsubstantiated, and the remaining 1,418 cases (28%) were not pursuable due to lack of evidence.  

 

During the quarter, the relevant government departments and organisations took on board 31 suggestions to enhance public transport services and improve traffic conditions.
