Transport complaints up 5.5%

Transport Advisory Committee

The Transport Advisory Committee received 4,889 complaints and suggestions in the second quarter, up 5.5% on the first. The comments were related to public transport services (75%), enforcement matters (15%) and traffic conditions (6%).

 

Those related to public transport services rose 5.4% to 3,685. Those on traffic conditions rose from 241 to 266. Those on road maintenance fell from 89 to 87, while those on illegal parking and other enforcement matters grew from 727 to 745. All comments have been referred to the relevant authorities for follow-up action.

 

During the period, investigations into 4,209 cases were completed. Of these, 2,908 cases (69%) were found to be substantiated, 213 cases (5%) were unsubstantiated, and the remaining 1,088 cases (26%) were not pursued due to lack of evidence.

 

The Government and other organisations took on board 50 suggestions to enhance transport services and improve traffic.
