The Transport Department urges students to familiarise themselves with public transport routes to their schools and to allow more time to commute when classes resume on September 1.

Those attending schools on or living on outlying islands should check ferry schedules and the vessel types to be used on their intended commutes beforehand.

The department has reminded transport operators to provide adequate services to meet the upsurge in demand on that day. It will also, through its Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre, closely monitor the traffic situation. Click here for more information.
