The Land & Building Advisory Committee has backed the proposed mandatory building inspection scheme. The group considers it a practicable and effective long-term solution to address building neglect.

At a meeting today the committee was consulted on the implementation details of a proposed mandatory building inspection scheme, window safety enhancement options and support measures as set out in a public consultation paper on mandatory building inspection in October.

Members supported the proposed mandatory building inspection scheme and commented on the implementation details.
