The Transport Advisory Committee has endorsed the KCRC's launch of monthly passes for its East and West Rail links to boost patronage.

Members also supported extending the scheme for the Ma On Shan Rail.

Committee chairman Teresa Cheng said, at its meeting today, members also learned reviews are being conducted on speed limits on trunk roads and primary distributors by a working group comprising the Transport Department, Police, the Automobile Association and the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Twenty-two sections have been reviewed so far, seeing the upward adjustment of the limit on a portion of the Island Eastern Corridor.
