27 building plans approved

Buildings Department

The Buildings Department approved 27 building plans in September - four on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and 14 in the New Territories.

 

Of the approved plans, 12 were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, three were commercial, three were factory and industrial, and nine were for community services.

 

Consent was given for work to start on 17 building projects that will provide 41,132 square metres of gross domestic floor area involving 403 units, and 49,995 square metres of gross non-domestic floor area.

 

The department has received notification of commencement of work for 16 building projects.

 

19 occupation permits

The department issued 19 occupation permits - five on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories. Of the buildings certified, the gross domestic floor areas were 112,208 square metres, involving 1,064 units, and 19,273 square metres for non-domestic use.

 

The declared cost of the new buildings completed totalled $2.03 billion.

 

Five demolition consents involving five buildings were issued.

 

The department received 2,285 complaints against unauthorised building works, and issued 1,091 removal orders.
