Drainage Services Department

Works to upgrade the Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works and Ting Kok Road Pumping Station No 5 will begin now that a $118-million contract has been awarded to Maeda Corporation, the Drainage Services Department says.

The works cover increasing the treatment capacity of Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works from 80,000 to 93,000 cubic metres a day, and upgrading the pumping capacity of Ting King Road Pumping Station No.5 from 2,900 cubic metres to 11,500 cubic metres daily.

Upon completion in early 2009, the treatment and pumping capacity of these facilities will be able to meet development needs and help improve the environment.
