About 1.3 hectares of land at Po Lun Street in Lai Chi Kok has been zoned for comprehensive development to facilitate control over the site's redevelopment after the removal of the Lai Chi Kok Bus Depot, the Town Planning Board says.

The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Lai Chi Kok Outline Zoning Plan, covering an area of about 91 hectares in the northwestern part of Kowloon within the Sham Shui Po Administration District.

About 17.9 hectares is set aside for high-density residential development, and about 22.8 hectares is zoned for the provision of Government, institution or community facilities to serve people's needs.

About 20.1 hectares of land is zoned for outdoor open-air space for recreational uses. About 0.04 hectare of land is zoned for other specified uses, including the existing petrol filling station at Mei Lai Road.

About 1.8 hectares of land covering the slopes adjoining Ching Cheung Road and Castle Peak Road are zoned for the conservation of the existing natural environment amid the built-up areas or at the urban fringe.

The approved outline zoning plan is available for inspection at the Town Planning Board Secretariat, the Tsuen Wan and West Kowloon District Planning Office, and the Sham Shui Po District Office.
