Hong Kong International Airport has been named the world's best for the fifth consecutive year, according to British independent aviation research institution, Skytrax.
Skytrax's 2005 World Airport Awards Survey was conducted globally from June to March, attracting more than 5.5 million respondents of over 90 nationalities. The airport has been voted the best among 150 worldwide.
Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer Dr David Pang welcomed the accolades.
"These honours are made possible by the concerted efforts of the 50,000-strong airport community. This is an achievement that everyone in Hong Kong should take much pride in," he said.
The airport community includes those working for the airlines, ground services agencies, government departments, retailers, catering and the tourism industry.
To share the honours, the authority will organise celebration activities in June.
