Hankow Apartments declared safe

Buildings Department

Hankow Apartments in Tsim Sha Tsui has been declared safe after a piece of loose rendering recently fell from the walls and landed on its canopy.

The Buildings department said an expert has inspected the building and its owners have taken measures to ensure it poses no danger.

The department advised the owners in February to appoint an authorised person to investigate the building and arrange necessary repair. Some remedial measures have been conducted, such as the erection of scaffolding to protect sections of the fifth to seventh floors. A full repair of the building will start in June.
