The Civil Aviation Department will host the 41st Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation, Asia & Pacific Regions, November 1 to 5.
Director-General of Civil Aviation Norman Lo said hosting the conference again will enhance Hong Kong's position as an international civil aviation hub, project its Asia's world city image and showcase its development. Hong Kong last hosted the annual event in 1962.
More than 170 delegates from 38 jurisdictions, including the US, UK, Canada, France, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Macau, will participate.
International Civil Aviation Organisation Secretary-General Dr Taieb Cherif and Regional Director Lalit Shah, along with Vice Minister of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China Wang Changshun will also attend.
A study tour will also be arranged for the delegates, with visits to some civil aviation organisations to increase their understanding of the local industry.
