Burst water main snarls traffic in Central
*

A burst water main outside the Bank of China in Central has snarled traffic and affected  fresh water supplies  to some premises in Queensway.

The Transport Department has announced the re-opening of the slow lane of westbound Queensway near the Bank of China Building. The fast lane was still closed for repairs at 5pm.

The incident happened after midnight outside the bank building. In morning rush hour, many passengers were forced to get off buses in Admiralty and Wanchai to walk to Central.

The Queensway Government Offices, High Court and all premises at Pacific Place have had their fresh water supply suspended. Normal supply resumed at 3:30pm today.

Water wagons had been sent to the area to provide temporary water supply.
