Hebe Haven's coastal features to be protected
*

Coastal features such as mangroves and the historic remains of a salt pan in Nam Wai, the Ta Ho Tun bay area, the Pak Kong and Ho Chung rivers' estuaries and Nam Wai's coastal area are proposed to be included in Hebe Haven's coastal protection area zone.

The Town Planning Board announced the amendments to the approved Hebe Haven Outline Zoning Plan today. A number of zoning amendments have been made to reflect existing and committed uses such as the Ho Chung Football Field, Pak Sha Wan Public Pier, and a few commercial and recreational uses at the east and west banks of Pak Sha Wan.

Revisions have also been made to provide greater flexibility in the use of land and buildings, and to permit more uses or developments wherever appropriate.

The draft Hebe Haven Outline Zoning Plan incorporating the amendments is available for public inspection during office hours at the following locations:

*Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, 15th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point;

* Sai Kung District Planning Office, 14th Floor, Sha Tin Government Offices, 1 Sheung Wo Che Road, Sha Tin;

* Sai Kung District Office, 2nd Floor, Sai Kung Government Offices, 34 Chan Man Street, Sai Kung; and

* Sai Kung Rural Committee, 1 Sai Kung Rural Committee Lane, Sai Kung.
