Peng Chau sewage treatment upgrade planned
*
Lands Department

Peng Chau's sewage treatment works is to be upgraded, to increase its treatment capacity. The Government intends to carry out excavation work and construct two submarine outfalls on Tai Lei Island off Peng Chau.

The proposed works form part of the Outlying Islands sewerage project. They will affect about 6,120 square metres of foreshore and sea bed area, and are scheduled to begin in early 2005 for completion by early 2008.

The area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today. The notice and a related plan is posted on notice boards near the site. They can also be seen at the Lands Department's Survey & Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices and at the Islands District Office, 20th Floor, Harbour Building, 38 Pier Road, Central.

Any one who has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea bed involved may send a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road on or before August 18.
