HK, Shanghai logistics seminar opens

Port logistics development will be explored at the two-day seminar jointly run by the Shanghai Municipal Port Administration Bureau and the HK Logistics Development Council which started today.

 

Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Stephen Ip attended the Shanghai-HK Port Logistics Seminar in Shanghai and spoke on Hong Kong's latest port logistics industry developments.

 

The seminar also explores topics like the roles and functions of government authorities in promoting port logistics development, the experience of enterprises in port logistics operations, and port logistics infrastructural facilities in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

 

Shanghai Vice-Mayor Jiang Sixiang, Shanghai Municipal Port Administration Bureau Director Xu Peixing, China Communications & Transportation Association President Qian Yongchang, State Development & Reform Commission Deputy Secretary-General and the Commission's Economic Operation Bureau Director-General Ma Liqiang, Ministry of Communications' Water Transportation Department Deputy Director-General Zhang Guofa, and other senior government officials attended the seminar.

 

The Hong Kong delegation includes Deputy Secretary for Economic Development & Labour Raymond Fan, and Logistics Development Council members.

 

More than 130 participants attended the seminar, including national and regional officials responsible for port operations, the shipping and logistics sector as well as leading professionals and representatives from related enterprises.
