Twenty-one building projects were given consent in February to start works, and 12 building plans were approved.
The Buildings Department said the 21 projects will provide 271,120 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 4,768 units, and 59,515 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
Of the approved plans, six are on Hong Kong Island, four are in Kowloon and two are in the New Territories. Seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two for commercial and three for community services.
The month also saw the issue of 20 occupation permits - six on Hong Kong Island, eight in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 233,405 square metres, involving 2,024 units, and 120,832 square metres for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of the new buildings completed in the month was $4.035 billion. In addition, 13 demolition consents involving 13 building structures were issued.
The department received 1,361 complaints against unauthorised building works and issued 1,885 removal orders on unauthorised works.
