Harbour views more vibrant soon: Carrie Lam

*

Hong Kong is set for a more vibrant harbourfront with an enhancement committee soon to be launched.

This was the message today from Permanent Secretary for Housing, Planning & Lands (Planning & Lands) Carrie Lam, who said she is relieved a group opposing the Government's Central Reclamation Phase III project has decided not to appeal against a High Court judgment endorsing the works.

Mrs Lam said she hopes the move will finally end litigation relating to the works which has lasted for over a year.

"We will shortly set up the harbourfront enhancement committee. So this decision does come very timely for us to turn a new page to look ahead and work for the benefit of the entire community," she said.

"We now have a common platform to work together on work relating to creating a more vibrant harbourfront."
