HK to join air traffic meeting

Director-General of Civil Aviation Albert Lam will lead a team of air traffic and engineering professionals to participate in the 1st Pearl River Delta Air Traffic Management Planning & Implementation Working Group Meeting in Dalian from February 25.

 

In the high-level meeting, Mr Lam will meet his Mainland and Macau counterparts to map out the area's future air traffic management plan.

 

A number of issues will be covered in the two-day meeting. Among them are the development of a working model on the strategic planning and implementation of air traffic control procedures in the Pearl River Delta, and means to further enhance the efficiency of air traffic contro operations in the area.

 

The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China will also introduce the flight procedures of the new Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport which is scheduled to start operations in mid-2004 in Huadu.

 

Mr Lam will also visit the Middle & Southern Administration of Civil Aviation of China in Guangzhou and meet with its senior officials before returning to Hong Kong.
