Lai Chi Chong pier to be rebuilt
*

The Lai Chi Chong Public Pier in Tai Po will be rebuilt starting in October. Its reconstruction, aimed at improving its safety and appearance, is expected to take two years to complete.

Recent inspections indicated the pier, built in the 1960s, is in poor condition

The project will affect about 1,300 square metres of foreshore and seabed. Anyone with an objection may submit it in writing to the Director of Lands, 20/F, North Point Government Offices, by April 13.

The Government has gazetted its plan and posted it on notice boards near the site.

It is also available for public inspection at the Lands Department's Survey & Mapping Office, 23/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road and the Tai Po District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Ground Floor, Tai Po Government Offices Building, 1 Ting Kok Road, Tai Po.
