Lok Ma Chau trial begins on March 20
*

Taxis and green minibuses may operate at Lok Ma Chau Control Point between midnight and 6.30am on a trial basis starting on March 20.

The trial will cover urban and New Territories taxis as well as minibus routes 44B (Tuen Mun-Lok Ma Chau) and 79S (Tin Shui Wai-Lok Ma Chau).

Two new minibus routes will join the trial in mid-April to take passengers from Sha Tin and Mong Kok to the control point.

The carpark at the south of the control point's immigration hall will open to taxis and minibuses as pick-up and drop-off areas.

After getting through immigration clearance, passengers have to take the Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang shuttle bus service to go to Huanggang.

During the trial, only taxis carrying passengers can go directly to the control point.

A holding area will be set up at San Tin Public Transport Interchange for empty taxis waiting to enter the control point to pick up passengers.

A ticketing system will also be implemented in the holding area to regulate taxi traffic at the control point.

To simplify the shuttlebus fare-payment procedure during the extended hours, passengers taking the service will have to pay fares at the control point's northbound shuttle bus pick-up point.
