The Department of Health urges the public not to consume the product "Jin Yuan Pai Xue Guan Qing Dao Fu Jiao Nang" as it contains an undeclared Western medicine ingredient, sildenafil, that may cause serious side effects.
These side effects may include low blood pressure, headache, vomiting, dizziness, and difficulty in focusing vision. It may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs, such as nitroglycerin, and may lower the user's blood pressure to a dangerous level.
The department has instructed the importer to immediately recall the product from the market. It has set up a hotline, 3427 3918, to answer public enquiries.
