The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed the year's second case of gastrointestinal infection caused by the E.coli O157:H7 bacteria.

A two-year-old Tuen Mun girl came down with diarrhoea and a fever on May 13. She was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital and is now stable.

Investigations are underway.

There were two cases last year.
