*
Hospital Authority

Princess Margaret Hospital will form a panel to investigate the scalding of a baby boy at one of its wards last week.

The panel, chaired by Prince of Wales Hospital Chief of Service & Consultant Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine Dr Li Chi-kong, will recommend improvement measures to prevent a recurrence.

The panel members are Governing Committee member of Kwai Chung & Princess Margaret Hospitals Chow Yick-hay; Queen Elizabeth Hospital Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine Department Operations Manager Luk Sau-kuen; Quality & Safety, Kowloon West Cluster Manager Chung Wai-ching; and, Princess Margaret Hospital Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine Deputy Ward Manager Hon Kam-yin.

The panel will deliver its findings and recommendations within six weeks. The report will be submitted to the Hospital Authority's Kowloon West Cluster and the authority's head office, and will be explained to the patient's family.

The nurse involved in the incident will be temporarily transferred to another ward when she returns to work.
