62 ill in gastroenteritis outbreaks

Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating two gastroenteritis outbreaks involving 62 residents and staff of two elderly homes in Tai Po and Kowloon Tong.

 

Three male and 21 female Tai Po elderly home residents have come down with symptoms since December 17. Eight required hospitalisation. All are stable. Four tested positive for norovirus.

 

Thirteen male and 21 female residents and four female staff of the Kowloon Tong home have fallen ill since December 28. Four required hospitalisation. All are stable.
