Social security cases fall 0.1%

Social Welfare Department

Social security assistance cases fell to 289,607 in November, down by 374 cases, or 0.1%, on October, the Social Welfare Department says.

 

The cases represent 482,036 recipients.

 

Unemployment cases fell 0.9% to 33,699, while single-parent and low-earning cases decreased 0.4% to 36,429 and 15,643 cases. Old-age cases rose 0.1% to 153,269.
