More than 60% of the Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games tickets have been sold and over 10,000 tourists are forecast to come to watch the event.

Meeting the National Sports Associations today, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs Carrie Yau said most of the competition venues are ready and final test runs of the support facilities are being conducted.

She thanked the associations for their support for the games which will be held December 5 to 13.
