The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department will auction the 2010 Lunar New Year fair stalls from October 28.
The fairs, in 14 locations, will be open from February 8 to 14. There will be 1,171 wet-goods stalls, 824 dry-goods stalls, eight thematic stalls and 17 fast-food stalls.
Opening prices range from $460 to $7,820 for wet-goods stalls, $540 to $8,740 for dry-goods stalls, and $4,670 to $230,180 for fast-food stalls.
The eight thematic stalls at the Victoria Park Fair are for the sale of festive commodities like food and goods, spring couplets (fai chun), drawings, paper cuttings, fortune string knots and crockery, but not for cooked food and drinks. Their opening price will be $28,850.
The five fairs on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon - Victoria Park, Fa Hui Park, Cheung Sha Wan Playground, Morse Park and Hong Ning Road Recreation Ground - will provide 502 wet-goods stalls, 524 dry-goods stalls, eight thematic stalls and 11 fast-food stalls.
The auction for the Victoria Park stalls will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on October 28 and 29 while that for Kowloon stalls will be from November 2 to 5, from 9am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4.45pm.
In the New Territories 669 wet-goods stalls, 300 dry-goods stalls and six fast-food stalls will be set up at nine fairs at Sha Tsui Road Playground, Kwai Chung Sports Ground, the open space in front of Tin Hau Temple in Tuen Mun, Yuen Long's Tung Tau Industrial Area Playground, Shek Wu Hui Playground, Tai Po's Tin Hau Temple Fung Shui Square, Sha Tin's Yuen Wo Playground, Sai Kung's Man Yee Playground and Tseung Kwan O's Po Hong Park. The auctions will be held from November 9 to December 23.
