A 14-month community programme has been launched to help young people in Tuen Mun develop their potential and stay away from drugs.
District Officer (Tuen Mun) Eddie Cheung today officiated at the ceremony and led 100 participants to make a pledge to show their determination to resist drugs. The participants then went on a two-day camp to take part in adventure training and team-building activities.
The programme, jointly launched by the Tuen Mun District Office and the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association's Tuen Mun Integrated Social Service Centre, targets those who are 21 and under in the district.
Through skills and arts training, life planning, volunteering, mentorship and reward programmes, it is hoped that young people can benefit from gaining exposure, establishing a positive self image and building positive values.
