The Centre for Health Protection today confirmed the year's first case of gastrointestinal infection caused by E. Coli O157:H7 bacteria, involving a 10-month-old boy.
He came down with a fever and diarrhoea September 5 and was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was discharged September 9 and has recovered.
