Vaccination facilities open Sundays

*

Twenty-nine maternal and child-health centres will open Sundays offering free pneumococcal conjugate vaccines for children under two years old, until February.

More than 2,000 staff have been trained as vaccinators, with many being senior registered or enrolled nurses. All have undergone vigorous theoretical and practical training, supervised by medical experts from the Auxiliary Medical Service and Department of Health.

Today 360 vaccinators handled 5,000 appointments.

Parents who have made an appointment for September to November with a maternal and child-health centre should bring their children as scheduled to receive the vaccine. Those who have not yet made an appointment should go to a maternal and child-health centre during opening hours to get one on a Sunday.
