The six swimming pools in Morse Park which have been closed since July 30 reopened today.
The Leisure & Cultural Services Department said water samples were up to standard. The department said the sterilisation and filtration systems are working properly and the the hygiene of the surrounding environment of the pools is in order. It will stringently monitor and upkeep hygiene standards.
Water in all its swimming pools is continuously filtered and sterilised during opening hours. Water quality is closely monitored by laboratory tests.
Test results will be announced at the pools and on the department's website.
A recent water test found the e-coli counts of pool water in the main pool, the secondary pool and a teaching pool, and the total bacteria counts of the main pool and a teaching pool of Morse Park exceeded prescribed limits. As the pools share the sterilisation and filtration system with three other pools, the six pools were closed down for checking and sterilisation.
